Fixing what search engines and AI crawlers actually see.

Great content can't rank if Google can't crawl it, and AI tools can't recommend what they can't read. I find the technical problems holding your site back, fix them in the right order, and make sure they stay fixed.

Start with the foundations

Content and links can't pay off on a broken foundation.

Most businesses spend on content, links or ads while technical problems quietly hold everything back. Pages that never get indexed. A site that takes five seconds to load on a phone. A redesign that wiped out years of rankings overnight.

Technical SEO fixes the things you can't see but search engines can. It's rarely glamorous, but it's often where the quickest, biggest wins are.

Signs your site has technical problems

  • Important pages don't show up in Google
  • Traffic dropped after a redesign or migration
  • Your site feels slow, especially on mobile
  • Search Console is full of errors and warnings
  • Several pages compete for the same searches
  • AI tools describe your business wrongly, or not at all
What I fix

Everything search engines and AI tools need to find, read and trust your site.

01

Crawling & indexing

Making sure Google can find your important pages, and isn't wasting time on the ones that don't matter.

02

Site speed & Core Web Vitals

Faster loading, quicker responses and stable layouts, especially on mobile.

03

Mobile experience

Pages that work properly on phones, where most of your customers are searching.

04

Site structure & internal links

A clear hierarchy that passes authority to the pages that bring in revenue.

05

Redirects & migrations

Redesigns, new domains and platform moves handled without losing rankings.

06

Duplicate content & canonicals

Stopping near-identical pages from competing with each other.

07

Structured data

Schema that helps Google and AI tools understand your business, products and services.

08

JavaScript rendering

Making sure content built by scripts or page builders is actually visible to crawlers.

09

AI crawler access

Checking robots.txt, CDN and firewall settings so GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot aren't shut out.

Core Web Vitals, explained

Google's three speed scores, in plain English.

Google measures how your pages feel to real visitors. Poor scores cost you rankings and customers, because people leave slow sites before they ever get in touch.

How it works

Diagnose, prioritise, fix, then keep it fixed.

  1. Crawl & diagnose

A full crawl of your site alongside Search Console, analytics and speed data.

  2. Prioritise

Every issue ranked by impact and effort, so the fixes that matter most come first.

  3. Fix

I make the changes myself, or give your developer clear instructions they can follow.

  4. Monitor

Ongoing checks so new issues are caught before they cost you traffic.

WordPress specialist

Most of the sites I fix run on WordPress.

I know where WordPress sites usually go wrong, and how to fix them without breaking anything.

AI-optimised WordPress sites

  • Too many plugins slowing every page down
  • Heavy themes and page builders adding bloat
  • Caching, image and hosting settings that hold back speed
  • SEO plugin settings that hide pages from Google by mistake
  • Security and firewall rules that block AI crawlers
Technical SEO questions

FAQs

What is technical SEO?

It's the work that makes sure search engines and AI tools can find, crawl, read and understand your website. It covers things like site speed, indexing, site structure, redirects and structured data: the foundations everything else sits on.

Does a new website need technical SEO?

Yes, ideally before it launches. It's far easier to build a site correctly than to fix it later, and a launch or migration is when most traffic is lost.

Will you make the changes, or does my developer?

Either works. I can make the changes directly, especially on WordPress, or write clear instructions your developer can follow. Many clients use a mix of both.

How quickly will I see results?

Some fixes, like getting important pages indexed or removing a blocking rule, can make a difference within days or weeks. Speed and structural improvements tend to show their full effect over a few months.

Does technical SEO help with AI search?

Very much. AI tools rely on being able to reach and read your pages, and on structured data to understand them. A site that blocks AI crawlers or hides content behind slow scripts often isn't considered at all.
